What are my chances???

Hi everyone. I m an Asian male studying in one the most competitive schools in my country. I need to know my chances of getting into Harvard and some other Ivies also. I know its really tough and i don't think its possible but still plz.just tell me whether its possible.

Rank- 1/400
SAT I- M- 800
V- 800
CR- 800

SAT II- MATH-II- 800
Physics - 800
chemistry-800
Eng. Lit -800
Bio -800
AP
Calculus AB 5
Calculus BC 5
Physics B 5
Physics C 5
English Composition and language- 5
Chemistry 5
Computer Science- 4 .(Grrrrrr....) :-(

GPA- N/A ( I'm from India but I have scored 98% in my 10th Grade examination which is really important and I placed 3rd in the entire country).

EC's

- Debating and Elocuting- Have won about 12 national competitions and 4 international competitions. I am the captain of my school teams. I had also the opportunity to have a session along with some othr ppl from my school with the former President of India.( A.P.J Abdul Kalam)

- Quizzing- Have won about 30 national and state championships.

- Mathematics- My favorite subject and will be probably be doing my college studies in it. I have represented India in the International Mathematical Olympiad 2 times and have won gold both the times. I also qualified 3 times for Physics and Chemistry and have won a two bronzes one in each.

- I have also helped in building homes for the people affected by the tsunami in India for around 3 months( 3 days a week and 3 weeks a month).

- I also volunteer every week for an avg. 4 hrs community service at the local old age home and also at an orphanage.

- I am also in my school Football(Soccer). Basketball. and Cricket Teams for the past 2 years and I was the captain of my b-ball team and we reached national finals.

- I also tutor kids at my home and school for 5 months every year.

- I have also won a couple of essay writing contests at national level.

My essays are terrific and I have very strong RC's . One from a former PM of India.

I 'm planning to apply to
-Harvard
-Princeton
-Harvey Mudd
-Yale
-Stanford
-UC Berkeley
-UCLA(Safety measure)
-UPenn (Safety mesure)

I'm free for any kinds of suggestions. Plz feel free to tell me ur views. Thanks in advance.

You are certainly qualified enough, I think your stats and ec's are very impressive! It is always difficult to tell what the admissions committee is going to do, but chances you'll get in are very high!

@coolbuddy90 - I see that you have posted this query also on the Princeton thread. Before everybody else on these threads wastes valuable time saying how impressive your credentials are and how you would be a near certainty in all of these schools, I think it is a good idea to call your bluff.

"I have represented India in the International Mathematical Olympiad 2 times and have won gold both the times."

Nobody from India has won an IMO Gold since 2004. Sometimes trolls do good research to make themselves convincing, but this doesn't clearly apply in your case. Read this Wikipedia link:

India at the IMO - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I also know this because my son has attended the final camp for selection to India's IMO team twice. Neither he nor I have the data before 2004, but the idea of a sixth- or seventh-grader winning two IMO Golds for India is a bit too much

I am not even going into the other stuff, e.g., bronzes at the IPhO and IChO (their camps have a date conflict with the IMO camp in India), and all-India 3rd in your ICSE/CBSE exams, etc (2007?), RC from a former Prime Minister of India. Hahahaha!!!!!!

The "4 in your AP Computer Sc." was a nice touch, though!

in fact, i second IntlDad. i don't post in CC, but i saw that absurd post by coolbuddy90, and i decided something needed to be done. i know the IMO inside out, and i can vouch for the fact that no one from india got a gold in recent years. the other stats also appear absurd - a PM of india never writes reccos - ROFLMAO...in fact, for those who don't know, that claim was farcical.

i really think coolbuddy90 is lying big time here. and i never attack people on purpose, but this is really taking it a bit too far, and i believe this sort of thing shouldn't be encouraged in these threads. we are after all serious about chances and stuff.

The guy said UPenn "as a safety measure." Obviously a joke...

(just imagine an 8th grader winning a gold at IMO...)
