I don't remember getting one, I might of been really careless and deleted it. Doesn't matter, the point is I don't have one at my disposal right now

I just got an E-mail from IvySport saying something about welcome and celebrate with the class of 2012, including Harvard stuff and I've never ordered from them before or anything...
what does this mean? Did anyone else get something like this?
... I don't like foreshadows.

  • Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 4.0
  • Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): 2 of 791
  • AP (place score in parenthesis): 5 Bio, 4 Spanish Lang, 5 USH

  • Gender: male
  • Income Bracket: 90k-100k
  • Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): first generation
Reflection
  • Strengths: near Perfect stats, good EC's, best i could on essays/recs
  • Weaknesses: 1 of 27,000
  • Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: maybe all my accomplishments this year could have put me over the edge, idk. Last year with less applicants i could have probably gotten in.
General Comments: Good Luck!! Didn't really want to go to Harvard; i just wanted leverage with their financial aid since it caters to my family's situation, but Harvard definitely could have smuggled me in (and still might) had they accepted me. Oh well, still disappointed though. No one at my school has ever gotten in, hopefully the one other applicant had slightly better luck. I guess it's Yale, Princeton, or Brown for me Au revoir les rouge comme la sangre.

  • Volunteer/Community service: A lot.
  • Summer Activities: Travel and relaxing, nothing academic or competitive.

  • Interview: Average.
Other
  • School Type: Small public, noncompetitive.
  • Ethnicity: Asian
  • Gender: Female
  • Income Bracket: Under $100K
  • Hooks: Artist, sent in a portfolio.
Reflection
  • Strengths: My writing style.
  • Weaknesses: My SAT scores (which I actually don't think play that big of a role once you're past the 700 mark for each subject).
  • Why you think you were accepted: Superstition.
General Comments: I'm dying to discuss with some fellow acceptees about who's choosing where to attend and how. I'm interested in finding out others' opinions on Harvard and why they will be attending. I'll be the first to admit that I don't know Harvard undergraduate program terribly well, and I want to know every single aspect of Harvard undergrad life before I make such a huge decision. Feel free to message me or debate on the forum with me!

DD1 accepted at Harvard tonight with a single sitting 2400, 36, 4*800 on SAT II subjects, 9 APs all 5's, 4.0 unweighted, pretty good ECS, not earthshaking. Will be heading up north to visit later this week.

Objective:
  • SAT I (breakdown): 2400
  • ACT: Didn't submit
  • SAT II: 800 800 790
  • Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 4.0

  • Senior Year Course Load: 3 APs and regular courses

  • Job/Work Experience: Teach kids SAT/ACT/PSAT
  • Volunteer/Community service: Various kinds of volunteer work at a local community center

  • Teacher Recommendation: Didn't see, but probably really really good
  • Counselor Rec: Great!
  • Additional Rec: From a school administrator who knows me really well -- extremely laudatory and overall amazing
  • Interview: Just...weird...haha, don't really feel like explaining
Other
  • State (if domestic applicant): Midwest, USA
  • Country (if international applicant): USA
  • School Type: Public
  • Ethnicity: Asian
  • Gender: Male
  • Income Bracket:
  • Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): Well-rounded -- not a hook, you say? I think, for me, it was.
Reflection
  • Strengths: Well-roundedness
  • Weaknesses: No exceptional achievements in one particular area
  • Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Ask Harvard.
General Comments: Great job to all who got in! For those who didn't, you will all go somewhere great and achieve great things. A successful life doesn't at all need to include getting into Harvard or another Ivy League school. Whether you got in or not, the very fact that you care about your education means that you will lead very successful lives. In fact, congratulations and felicitations to everyone here -- you are all amazing people!

If you can't log in on the main status website with your PIN, that probably means you weren't accepted. Sorry to burst any bubbles.
