APLinke,

My son wanted Dartmouth in the worst way, unfortunately they rejected him out right. He would have wanted it even over Harvard if had gotten into both.

Undoubtedly this is a stupid question, but for those of you on the waitlist who have received the snail mail, do they give you any idea on what financial aid would be if you get in by some miracle? Son got the e-mail for waitlist, but no snail mail yet.

waitlisted too
i talked to the receptionist at harv admissions office and she said "several hundred" ppl are on the waitlist, so chances are slim
but. if you got accepted to another great school *cough mit cough* and want to get in just to turn harvard down, please decline your spot on the waitlist b/c some ppl (me!) desperately want to go to harvard...

^^^ Even if they are accepted off the waitlist, and they end up turning harvard down, shouldn't that spot go to someone else anyways?

I think by several hundreds, they mean 1,999. I know wayyyy too many people waitlisted for the list to be really small.

So, does anyone have an actual number of waitlisted people this year? Also, does anyone know what the number of people taken off the waitlist was last year?
