I hope they just call us. That would be a much more humane way of doing it.

Do you all know if they inform you if you've been taken out of contention?

Also, are you allowed to accept online? I'm gonna be overseas the entire month of june, so (just in case, lol) if I somehow get off the WL, I want to know that I can at least accept them on their offer.

I'm sure if no online acceptance is available you can just have one of your parents send back the form. Or if they e-mail you with the news, call the office and explain your situation.

If you sent a supplemental letter, did you send it to your regional director, or to Mr. Fitzsimmons (the director) directly? I sent one three weeks ago to my regionals director, and no response whatsoever. No returned emails or phone calls. what's up with that?

I'm pretty sure it'll all get sorted out. I mean, I'd assume if they receive a letter telling them that you will go if accepted, they'll place it for the waitlist committee. I think everything was supposed to be in by May 1 (I, and my GC heard this directly from someone in admissions).

However, my GC also told me that H really doesn't care about sending in extra recs, extra letters, or whatever. I mean, unless you have received some major award (i.e. ISEF, USAMO, etc), then sending "interest" letters is nearly inconsequential. They pick in order to fill the class they envisioned it to be. For example, if they don't have anyone going from Wyoming, and there's someone on the WL form that state, then odds are that that person will get the call so that H can say that all 50 states are represented.

Really, CNI? So I can't send an extra rec now?

And WiiSeller, I'm going to Duke too! I'm completely content, but Harvard would be cool.

I'm on Columbia and Penn WL, but I'm unlikely to go even if accepted there. H is the big one.

150-200 is a siginificant number. Perhaps they may have to send 300-400 offers to fill these 150-200 spots. How does this process work?

My fortune cookie said: A smooth long journey! Great Expectations.
Lucky Numbers: 14, 18, 23, 32, 34, 39
The word on the back is: Today (jin-tian)

no joke. This is so disgustingly appropriate.
