This is my take on it, I think they'll start making calls this week. For those who don't get the call, they'll get rejection letters the week of May 19th. I think they'll keep some of the waitlistee's around until June just in case some of the people from the first round say "no."

Last year the majority of rejection letters were dated on May 18th for the first round and June 4th for the second round of rejections.

Totally my predictions, so take it with a grain of salt.

I know they offered more than 1000 waitlist spots at least to students but not all the students accepted them. Does anyone know how many people chose to remain on the waiting list?

They say about 2/3 accept positions on the waitlist. So probably 700 or so.
However, some waitlisties are more interested than others.

A quote to ponder while we wait...

... Progress however, of the best kind, is comparatively slow. Great results cannot be achieved at once; and we must be satisfied to advance in life as we walk, step by step.
- Samuel Smiles

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Nobody yet, sparkley, at least not on CC. We've all been wondering when Harvard's going to start calling.

I wonder if they'll just call and leave a message on our home phones or if they'll try our cellphones? Imagine coming home to a phone call from Harvard!

With my luck, mine will be a message recorded with a bostonian accent thick enough to spread on toast, so that I misinterpret the voice-mail as a tele-marketing monologue for iphone insurance and delete the message.

good luck to everyone else on the waitlist!

I imagine a few people will get calls tomorrow. But who knows these days?

If I get a call I'll be sure to let everyone know exactly what went down
