Do you think the "real" stats are better or worse?
Hahaha. It'll be fun to watch people's shrieks of despair or hope once they release the new stats.

thanks vttxnh, I'm gonna be giving up cornell plus a $400 deposit, but whatever, Harvard's way worth it.

CNI, don't worry about stats too much, I had a 2160 SAT and everything worked out ok. I also won the bet w/ my mom cause she didn't think I could get into top schools with that low of a score. haha.

um...are you sure that's the case???
i personally called the admissions office and they said that they have to review everyone who stayed on the waitlist first before calling people. they said that they won't start notifying ppl until this thursday. and then it'll be an ongoing process for about a month.

so i wouldn't automatically believe anyone who says they've gotten off the waitlist.

I am sure. positively, absolutely sure. This is one of those people that doesn't ever lie. Naviance is changed to (enrolled), saw our GC congratulating her and everything. She is an amazing, amazing applicant from SC, an underrepresented state where I know of at least one guy and one girl who gave up H.

CNI,

I wouldn't give up yet, you never know, but I'll have to admit once we had heard that a student at my son's school had gotten in RD we kind of knew that at best my son would be waitlisted. Harvard just doesn't usually take more than one from our school.

With her stats I'm kind of surprised they even waitlisted her.

Duke's a great school!

It's kind of strange though, because Harvard has historically taken two people from my school every single year. This year they took no one and I'm the only person they even waitlisted. I heard somewhere it was because someone from our school who went to Harvard is currently on academic probation, but I can't imagine them keeping track of these things.

I'm in south FL. Nearby high schools got several kids in each. Chances are that I'm not needed to even out geographic distribution :\

But congrats xd32! And thanks for sharing with us :] Just wondering, what region do you live in?
