| It shouldn't matter. I read somewhere that Harvard tries to replace the student with a waitlisted student similar to the one not accepting the offer. So, if someone similar to you happens to not accept their offer then you would be looked at favorably.
I wish I could remember where I read it, but I do know that Harvard does not have waitlists in any particular order. So in other words, no one is #1, #2 etc. | |

| If the rumors are somehow true, that would probably signal that harvard was wayyy too ambitious in predicting its yield and realized that it wasn't gonna be like 85% | |

| Guys, it is not a rumor. I know for a fact that one of my friends got off the wait list. She got the Harvard email and joined the network on facebook just now too (Harvard gives out their emails early... it's not fair). It's legit, although she is the only case I've heard of so far. | |
