Does the school have a discounted travel agency? Are there still shuttle discounts for students from LaGuadia to Logan? Are there any provisions for kids who want a car on campus, or is public transportation the only thing that makes sense? Anyone going to H before their stichk at the end of the month?

Car: not really feasible, unless you live off-campus
Discounted travel agency: You can try STA
Shuttles: I don't think so. Why would you want to take a shuttle from one airport to another?

Thanks. I looked up STA( 1-800-333-2920). They have 4 yr discont card for $60 applicable to all different modes of travel in addition to lots of other stuff. Also, US Air has special student shuttles for $95 one way with certain limitations, about the same price as Amtrak. I will find out more details of the STA deal and let you know--I believe their card is applicable to AMTRAK too, but don't know if the discount is any greater than AAA. The airlines disontinued their 5 packet student flights which used to be really cheap. I think from the airport you can take a t to the school---don't really know if you save much time.

Parking is horrible in Boston.Expensive and scarce.
Drivers are some of the worst in the country. They deliberately leave dents in their car to intimidate other drivers. They are rude and do crazy things on the interestate such as speeding down the service lanes to bypass backed up traffic.
The Boston/Cambridge area also has streets that seem to be laid out with the logic of cowpaths.

Public transportation is easy and convenient.

From the airport to Harvard Square on the T: about 45 minutes, several transfers (airport shuttle, blue line, green line then red line), cost: $1.25.
From the airport to Harvard Square by taxi: 20 minutes if not caught in traffic, forever if traffic is heavy. Cost: $35 plus tips.
