Yikes - we are so behind on all this stuff. How do your kids and you keep so abreast of everything??

mammall,

Hang in there. It's very difficult. I bought a large calendar and have it on my desk at home. I jotted down deadlines for these things and that works for me. There are only a couple of things that need to be done now, so don't worry too much. The yearbook thing has to be submitted by May 15th. You still have time! you can do it online, it's very easy and only takes a few minutes. Let me know if I can help with dates of things that are due soon

Thanks, guitars. I just sent the parent data base form in late. Hope we make it in - the due date was May 3. But the freshman yearbook looks much more special.

>>...the Harvard Freshman Register- it is like a yearbook with photos, hometowns and high schools listed for all the freshmen....<<

It's the original "facebook" from the days when it was a real book instead of a website. It is also presumeably from where Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg got the idea for Facebook.com.

Way cool.

Okay, in this nice civil thread I feel like asking for predictions on yield this year. I think it's going to be sky high. Predictions?

QUESTION - Does anyone know if Harvard has a "parents" group?

It would be nice to belong to a group where parents can discuss issues/concern or life at Harvard from a parents view.

kind of temporary dormitory room ??

If my son joins FIP(Freshman International Program),
he'll be temporarily staying in Weld Hall for the nights of
Sep. 2, 3, and 4th and on Sep. 5th, students will move
their possessions to the dormitories to which they have been
assigned for the academic year.

With my vacation plan, I want to visit Harvard with a father-in-law
and some other people around on Aug. 26th and we'll stay in a hotel
for a couple of days. After finishing vacation, I want to leave
my son there before FIP starts.

Is there any room available in Harvard except expensive hotel
for my son to stay for around 4 or 5 days before the FIP starts.

Thanks

Hello all. our D doing Dormcrew--get her started on the "student contribution" and hopefully get a few cleaning tips...(not good at keeping her room in order)
mammall,
What's the "parent data base form"--do you mean the optional Alumni Records Form for parents/grandparents?
guitars101,
what can you do online concerning the yearbook--and where?
Thanks

The website that fauve gave it the exact one that I used. It's very simple and quick. Good luck, you have until May 15th

Thanks fauve

You're welcome. Enjoy your year as a freshman parent! And don't miss Freshman Parent's Weekend in late October. Reserve your hotel room soon, Cambridge fills up quickly. Dates might be found at Harvard Parent's Association website (linked at www.fdo.fas.harvard.edu).
