Alright, thanks. But would they also consider my upbringing in PNG as a boost as then they can write they've had a student from PNG and I can bring something unique to the cohort?

hmmm you're not a citizen so i think they can't add you to that list of represented nationalities. but growing up there definitely makes you unique.

I can apply for citizenship and since its 3 years till college for me theres no suspicion, lol.

You might as well get the citizenship as long as there are no downsides. It would strengthen your case, and as long as you can be a dual citizen with no problems then why not?

Theres no dual citizenship between Australia and PNG. But yes, once I get the visa for America I'll start the process for becoming a PNG citizen.
