Subjective- Essays: I wrote them at 8:25 PM. The application was due at 9:00 PM. I don't know what I was talking about. I used old essays I wrote and made it stretch to kind of fit the topic, but they didn't really fit.
- Teacher Recs: Pretty good, I'm assuming.
- Counselor Rec: Pretty good, I'm assuming.
- Supplementary Material: None.
- Interview: None.

-3 years of Big Brothers (mentoring program for a near-by underprivilaged elementary school) - Awards:2 Science departmental awards, and 1 Math departmental award (departmental award meaning that I was named the top student of my class each year in that subject.)

| how exactly are people receiving their decisions? i havent recieved anything by mail or email so far and its nervewracking seeing everyone else get their decision already. im not an international applicant and i live in maryland if that helps. | |

| Int'l applicants were emailed on Friday. Everyone else's decisions were mailed. The folks who posted decisions today are all in CA. For MD, I'd expect Monday or Tuesday. We feel your pain! | |

My application, in general. Very thought out, just like the other 14.

- High School Type: Public, large, one of the best in New England. Very rigorous.

- Gender: Female
Other- Extracurriculars: See "Hook" [music: piano and voice, both classical and jazz- competitive since I was 8]. Also, theater, creative engineering work with Tufts University, feminist camp [teehee ], youth group, and others- everything fits together, which I think was key.
- Awards: Nothing too crazy. :P
- Advice? Commiserations? Feel like bragging?: Anything can happen; it's all about knowing who you are, what you want, and how the school you're applying to meshes with the such. Do your research and make connections with people who have a say in your decision. Knowing your stuff is imperative for top schools such as HMC.
Just wondering: did anyone else get a note from Ms. Briggs [or someone else] on his/her acceptance letter?
