whether it's possible to double-major between schools in the 5C's? I'm really interested in both engineering and the social sciences, so I wanted to try to double major between chemE and cognitive science. If it's not possible between the 5C's, does anyone know of a school where that would be possible (where I would still be able to graduate in 4-5 years)?

The hum requirements here can almost be turned into an extra degree on the 5Cs. That being said, if it requires a couple extra classes, as an engineering major it could still be difficult to fit in, but you could probably do it reasonably if you did summer math

It is not really possible to do this with engineering. There are too many required courses. You may be able to pull it off in 5 years though...

I know of several physics/econ doubles, and several people who doubled in either music or foreign language, but i don't think any were engineering majors.

Besides, why do engineering when you can do physics? =)

well there is no chemE degree, just a general engineering degree, and nearly everyone I've talked to say it's quite impossible to double major in Engineering/anything else. Most people apparently don't end up double majoring in anything else either, even similar fields - two people I talked to say they both started out as wanting to double major in math and physics, then one of them became a math major, and the other a physics major. I guess it's far too hard.

I'm in the same boat as you, really. I want to double major in Engineering and Psychology. It's the reason why I'm still debating between HMC and Wesleyan. (3-2 program with Columbia Engineering)
