I'm a current student.
UPenn, Carnegie Mellon, Lehigh, Colorado School of Mines, RHIT
I chose Mudd because of the smaller campus, nice amenities, it's easy to switch majors and the weather is great.
In hindsight, however, if I did it all over again I would have gone with UPenn.
Word of caution: when visiting any school, be VERY sure to get a sense for what the social life is like. I didn't get a feel for Mudd's beforehand, and I regret it now because I don't fit in here. Most people do, but I must have slipped between the cracks somehow.

I got into Reed and Mudd, I was denied by Wellesley Princeton and MIT. FML lol.
No, not really, I love Mudd. I'm just darn afraid I'll get screwed on FA.

Last year, S was admitted to Mudd, UChicago (partial merit), MIT, and UMD (full ride). Is now at UChicago; Mudd came out ahead of MIT and UMD in his decision making process.

I also got accepted at Rochester, Rensselaer, UC Santa Barbara, Johns Hopkins, Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science, Vanderbilt, and UPenn.
I'll most likely be attending Penn or Carnegie Mellon, so that should open up a slot for you waitlists Good luck!

Muddslinger, like MomPhD, I'd love to know why the Mudd social life is not for you. Why do you think you don't fit? Any idea how you could have detected the problem before choosing? Would love to learn from your "mistakes!"

LongPrime - What were your priorities when comparing Mudd/CMU? They seem like very different schools, but both are on my son's application list. He liked his visit to Mudd, but CMU was a recent addition to the list, so we have note toured it yet.
