How to write a grant for school club?

Hi everyone. I'm president of my school's environmental club, and I am looking for ways to get money to pay for supplies, food, etc. I have heard that you can write grants to get money for school clubs, but I'm not exactly sure how to go about this. How do I find appropriate grants online? Has anyone done this before? I would really appreciate any advice.

Thank you!

Edit: Sorry, my title should have been "How to find grants for school club"

    Introduction
    What is your club
    what is it you do
what do you need $$ for
    how will you spend it
how much do you need (u figure that out yourself, ie you need recycle bins how many you need and how much each is)
    How many members you got
    impact on school
impact on enviornment (ie how much paper can you recycle...or something)

Thanks so much for the ideas! I was thinking about stuff along the same lines as you. My main question was actually about how do I FIND grants online? But I said the wrong thing in the title :|
