Favorite/Best: Anything Social Studies related. I have aced every S.S. class pretty much ever.

Worst: Math. I like math, but I have to grapple with it. Currently, it's my only B (I'm in pre-calc), as I have an 87.7%. Ugh.

Waiting until 11:30 to do a DBQ....not my brightest idea. Luckily, I stayed home sick today, and I guess I slept off my sore throat and cold....I slept until 2:50! So, I`m not too tired. I think I might have to pull an all-nighter just to get ahead on homework. Wish me luck.

@CE527M: Good luck!

I need to just rant. I was doing my AP Biology homework at 11PM last night. Feeling a little bored, I checked my email and saw an e-mail from my English teacher saying: "Don't sleep too late studying for the test! See you tomorrow for the exam!"
And at first, I thought she was joking and I laughed.
And then I found that that there was a huge unit test the next day. Gosh, I'm so irresponsible. I honestly didn't think a teacher would really assign a huge test after the biggest holiday in my country

Well, I`m somewhat prod of myself....my DBQ shouldn`t have taken that long, but I didn`t finish until close to 3....and then I caught up on other stuff, so I only got 45 minutes of sleep....so I`ve very proud of the fact that I`m still up and talking coherently, but have lots of makeup work from missing school....so I can only hope I`ll finish at a decent time.

@LemonDormiens....I don`t THINK my teachers would do something as underhanded as that, but who knows. How`d it go?

Hey, guys! Did anybody watch the presidential debate last night? If so, what'd you think? Do you belong to a party or support one of the candidates?

Nope, didn`t have time. Heard that Romney was the clear winner, though.

But forum rules say we aren`t to engage in political debate, otherwise posts, or worse *GULP* this thread, will be deleted, and I don`t now how far that stating which candidate we like and why would be violating that rule. So I`d advise all to be careful.

Oh, that's a weird rule. I was just curious, lol. Okay then, never mind my question.

So I just saw the musical of Cabaret with Will Young, and it was the best thing I have ever seen with my life. Apply this quote to shows:
“Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.”
Honestly people, it was the funniest, most upsetting and most powerful show I have ever seen, and Will Young was incredible. He went from wearing short leather shorts and stockings at the beginning to being completely naked at the end (which was the most moving scene). I know most of you will never get the chance to see this, but if you do you MUST. It is truly amazing, and I cried a lot. There aren't any reviews of it or anything yet because tonight was the opening night

Anyway, do any of you have books/films/shows that have left you like this?

Is it something that`s only in the UK? Because if so, 0 chance of me seeing it.

The Book Thief. I read that book in 8th grade, and each time I reread it, I get a different meaning....I guess I read deeper into it. Very good book, if you`re interested in history and all. I can`t exactly describe it, it was just that great. Told from a perspective that no one ever sees, one "main" story line, various other smaller, but yet still important ones, and the things that you have to read between the lines to get. Was the best $15 I ever spent. Actually, I didn`t spend jack.....it was a Christmas present. But still.

I loved the Book Thief as well

And I'm guessing Cabaret will only be on in the UK, but I'll have to have a look.

SPOILER ALERT- talks about the ending I was thinking The Book Thief, too. I love that book, but I probably wouldn't have ever read it had it not been required summer reading for my English class the summer going into 9th grade.

I cried when Rudy died, he was my favorite character. I did cry when other characters died, though, but not as much. Great book.

The whole last few chapters/the ending is really the best part, as well as the saddest, which is what makes it awesome. But there`s also a lot of other great books I like.

Two hour early dismissal from school + Friday= Happy me
