@kypdurron if it's a really big school it could still have that many AP's but be a ghetto school. Here on Long Island there's a high school (our largest) that has a huge amount of gang violence and is infested with illegal immigrants. 16% of students don't know how to speak English and 48% kids on free or reduced lunch program, but it still has 16 AP's
There's a high school near mine that has 55% students on free/reduced lunch, 11% not speaking English, but still 13 APs
And there's also a small and poor high school nearby...with 39% on lunch program and only 700 students...but 12 AP's...
But then again standards for schools on Long Island are much higher than those for the rest of the country...
My school is large-ish (2300 kids) and has 16 AP's. 14% on free/reduced lunch and 2% not speaking English. Class of 2011, 49% kids Went to 4-year colleges...I've still had relatives ask me why I chose to live in a slum.

This year I'm going to self-study AP Human Geography
Junior Year: AP Bio, USH, Lang
Senior Year: Enviro, US Gov, Calc (I hope, lol), Lit, and I think maybe French self-study.

Yeah. 1 snowflake=canceled. But that was the old superintendent, I don`t know about the new one. The old one was fired for putting $33,000 on the school credit card for buying cheesecakes for the faculty of schools and stuff like that. He says he was trying to thank the teachers, but yet, he never visited the schools.
Oh well. Looking forward for a white Christmas, hopefully.

So, let`s get away from the past few pages of all the debates, and focus on something happy. I think my earlier question got caught up in everything else:
So what do you guys have as hobby`s, not counting EC`s?

Yeah, great post Purpledino, but FOR THE RECORD, I`M POSTING THE EXACT FORUM RULES for debates such as the ones we`ve had. The debate(s) could result in deletion of thread, and I think it`s best to move on because these are the rules. Of course, in our case, since it`s HSL, change "college" to "high school": Quote: |
Politics, religion, and similar controversial topics should be discussed only as directly applicable to college matters. College Confidential is not a debating society. Hence, "Would a Catholic be comfortable at BYU?" or "What is the political environment at Grinnell?" are fine. "Democrats (or Republicans) are evil!" and other opinions unrelated to the college process are not allowed. | I`m just putting that out there, and I think it would be best for us all to quit while (somewhat) ahead.

Kyp Durron. A Star Wars Expanded Universe character. Read Jedi Academy Jedi Search to begin your journey
go ahead use Kyp.
WHAT CAN I CALL YOU? ITS SO *%*^$@* Confusing!!!!!!
That CC quote inspires me as a catholic to apply to BYU and visit it. I hear they have awesome ROTC.
Of course, we were tired of Religous Debates
However, seeing as your all (expect You-Know-Who) intellectual Christians, Do any of you watch Blimeycow?

Bud, the only thing I know about Star Wars is that they have funny light saber things.
Kyp, like I said, OFF THE RELIGIOUS DEBATE!!!!!!!!!!!!! OR ANY RELIGION, UNLESS APPLICABLE TO COLLEGE/HSL! UNLESS YOU WANT THE THREAD DELETED! Oh BTW, I wasn`t yelling, just trying to make a point.
Oh, yeah, I know, sorry, really bad username for something like this, if you screw it up, it`s fine. You can just go with CE or whatever, I really don`t care.
But speaking of BYU, I couldn`t do Utah....I really have no desire to visit Utah...I mean, no offense to people living there, but I just picture a really dark, dim place, I don`t know. And it seems like almost everyone who`s abducted is from Utah! I didn`t know they had a good ROTC program though. I realllly like Ohio University, but they only have Army ROTC, so no dice. I like VT, but it`s just kind of close to home. But A&M seems good, but I don`t know if I could deal with the Texas heat, I love snow,
