Biden is laughing at the ridiculousness spewing from his opponent's mouth. Perfectly reasonable.

Regardless, Biden is certainly not a bad debater. He's actually winning.

Laughing can be a very effective debate tactic, provided you do it correctly.

Speaking of which, tournament on Saturday! My partner and I are chill, and 3/4 debates are impromptu, so not worrying too much about the case.

^ I agree. I've personally seen laughing used strategically in debates ranging from local to national tournaments. Someone's laughing certainly does not make him/her a bad debater.

@ everybody who says that laughing in debate is good:

Indeed, because the vice presidential debate is the same in dignity and magnitude as a debate between two seventeen year olds moderated by a bored parent.

I did debate too.

^ I said it *can* be good, and in this case, Biden certainly fired up the Democratic base (hence, his aggressive strategy paid off).

Also, I've seen and been a part of many debates that have equalled or surpassed the quality of the average presidential debate. A higher status doesn't guarantee higher quality. And as a member of CC, you should know what many 17-year-olds are capable of.

Though I'm not a fan of debating politics on CC, stating Biden is a bad debater is a bit rash. He asserted himself with facts and his opponent failed to do that as well as he did. Though bombastic in his demeanor, Biden still surpassed Ryan in terms of debating for his party's merits and ideals by a long run.

Laughing is also an apt response when your opponent is either spewing out baseless assertions or side-stepping their own previously stated stances.

Not to be off topic, but...
I finally got my mid-quarter grades. All As except for pre calc which is an 89 (I somehow even have an A in APUSH). Oh and then there is gym, where I have an 82 in because I missed one day and have not done the makeup work. Oh well, I am still thrilled!

I'm actually not too anxious about getting my scores. I know I did well, but now that I'm done with the SAT until June... I don't really care about it xD. The PSAT on the other hand... I don't know if I'll be able to get lucky and get a 215; I have too much homework to concentrate on :/. Those scholarships associated with NM would be so helpful, too.

Apparently at my school, a 95+ overall average is a 4.0, while a 94 is a 3.9, and so on. Is it just me, or does that seem like a really weird way to do GPA?

Hey guys!

I recently took a full-length practice PSAT test; I scored a 193. CR: 68, M: 52, W: 73. How can I get my scores up (preferably math) and how good is a 193? I improved 25 points from last year, so there's some growth.
