The perfect girl is 3 feet tall, no teeth, and has a flat head to rest your beer on.

I never really took height into consideration. I guess that I'd date someone shorter than me, height doesn't seem too important to me: just the personality. Of course, if there was some guy who was 4'8, I probably wouldn't date him.

Quote:
I'm 5'7 & I have to be able to be out with my guy and wear 4 inch heels and still not be taller than him.
I would never be able to wear 4-inch heels without killing myself.

And these heels obsessed girls seem to be the same ones who complain that all the guys left don't know how to treat a woman.

Well, if you're going for about 1-3% of the population, yeah, you find that.

I am 5'5 so I am pretty average. But no, I probably wouldn't date a guy shorter than me, kissing would be too weird.

ST, I've always thought girls went for taller guys due to natural selection, boys went for shorter girls due to the thought they'd be considered more masculine. What do you think?

I prefer taller guys but when it comes to girls, I don't have a preference. Actually, scratch that. I like girls who are shorter than me.

I'm 5'11, it works well as the majority of girls are a few inches shorter than me, a few inches shorter is best

I'm 5'10 and I could never date a girl who was taller than me. I don't know why a woman would date a shorter guy. Shorter women have larger dating pools.

I have heard it said that women prefer men who are 1.1 times their own height--too tall or too short and the relationship is strained.

Contrary to popular belief, women prefer V-shaped torsos to pure muscle mass. The 120lb XC runner with broad shoulders wins out over the fat, 250lb football linesman, no matter how much weight they can respectively bench.

Wiscongene - How is that contrary to popular belief? You just said women prefer fit guys as opposed to overweight guys...how is that new news?

I'm saying, a guy with Herculean biceps may feel good about himself, but if he doesn't have a V-shaped torso, it's all for nothing. Might be different overseas, but over here, the typical football quarterback's physique is the paradigm that everyone tries to emulate.

My point is that you don't need to be huge to be physically attractive. Like you say, you just need to be fit. Shoulders are more important than biceps. The bench is a better friend to you that the curling bar. You can be attractive to women even if you're on the skinny side, so long as you have a V-shaped torso (your "v" can be lowercase ).

Yeah I don't dispute any of that, it was the fact that you said 'contrary to popular perception' when in fact that is the perception. It's not new news.

Also, you can only generalise with those sort of statements. There are women who prefer Herculean biceps (even if they aren't completely slim) to a skinny guy who has a V by default because he has no body fat.

Huh, I've never paid attention to guys' torsos, but now that you mention it, nice shoulders on a guys are attractive. They're kind of like a frame for the collarbone/neck area and face.

Though as a 5'1 girl, I think dating anyone over 6' would be physically awkward for both of us. I've never found a guy shorter than me, so can't say anything for that end of the spectrum.
