Do you write your name in your textbook?

So you know that area in the front of the text book where you write name and year: I never did it my freshman year. But as I got my alg II book for summer I saw the names of two people who had the book before, and I was like "oh, I know them." I'm gonna start writing my name there, so underclassmen can see mine. Does anyone else think It's kinda cool seeing that you have the textbook of someone you know? It's just a little thing I thought I'd post

Yeah I do lol. And I always get screwed up textbooks with names like "Chuck Norris" and "Yo Momma" written in them. This year one of my friends wrote "Jerry Sandusky" in his, so our school really doesn't look in the textbooks often

We have to because occasionally when someone loses their book they steal someone elses so they don't get in trouble. They do checks every so often.

I only write my name if the teacher forces us to on the first day.

Yeah, that's the only reason I do it, haha.

Ever since elementary school it has excited me to receive books previously used by students that I know and/or adore. Sometimes someone will get a book that I've used, and then they'll excitedly tell me :P

We are required to do it as well, and we have to write in the "Condition" column as well. It's fun to note that the Math and Science textbooks at my school are rather old (like, 8-10 years) but the English and History textbooks are only 2-4 years old.

My favorite was the one that was in my Chemistry textbook.

Michael Jackson - ISSUED: Black - RETURNED: White

We're supposed to, but we never actually use our textbooks so it's moot.

Nobody really writes their names in them, so there's nothing exciting to be written.

This year I got Breenan Huff's and Dale Dobacks's textbooks. Never knew that the guys from the movie Stepbrothers went to my school haha In my school, most people write their name, along with 2 or 3 corny joke names.

I do, because I WILL leave it EVERYWHERE, and it's easier to tell if it belongs to you / for people to return to you. Plus, it's school policy.

@ David I've got the same Michael Jackson one before lol.
And I'm glad that I'm not the only crazy person who enjoys getting others textbooks. I just wish I had done it my freshman year

Lol, I do sign my textbooks.

The dumbest textbook I've ever gotten had Justin Bieber and Zac Efron "sign" it, causing much debate as to whether or not Zac Efron actually attended our school. Sigh.

My school makes us buy our books so I just draw all over it. Everyone knows it's mine because it has hundreds of doodles inside of it. Lol.
For the books we get from the state the teacher usually numbers them and assigns them to us so they'll know if they get ours back at the end of the year.

If some one takes it, it's our loss I guess.
