How about the Ayn Rand Essay Contest Winners? There are usually over 25,000 participants, only 1 First Place award, 5 Second Place Award, 10 Third Place Award. I think this should be added and rated as 8. There are lots of finalists and semifinalists, maybe rating 6 or 7?

What about FBLA state and national awards? For some reason everyone is avoiding this.

May I ask why a 1st place on an NJCL exam is only a 5?
And by 1st place, do you mean 1st in division (which is only moderately difficult to achieve) or a high score on the exam (meaning you have the highest score out of all divisions, which is a quite the challenge and is considered an honor by the NJCL)?

Also, on the subject of JCL, how would the following Latin awards rank?
- NJCL Certamen MVP
- NJCL Certamen 1st/2nd/3rd place
- NJCL Academic Decathlon winner
- NJCL AcDec 2nd/3rd/4th/5th place
- Harvard Certamen MVP or 1st place

(For the Certamen, assume Advanced Division)

FBLA depends on where you live. Awards at nationals are pretty tough to get, so maybe 8-9, and state awards...meh. I used to live in NY, which has hardcore FBLA people and my HS barely studied and we won a lot still, so, I don't know. 6.5-8?

(When I mean barely studied, I mean: study the subject the day before the test for an hour).

Other stuff

How does the DECA International Career Development Conference factor into this? What about Model United Nations? Varsity Sports? Starting your own club (rating based on club attendance, possibly)?

^ I think likely a 4 looking at some of the other awards.

Do middle school accomplishments count like FIRST Lego robotics and what not?

Eh, what grade was it? If it was less than 8th it's iffy. FIRST Lego Robotics won't do much, lots of people do it in middle school. I'd say not to mention it but its your choice

Bumping because this list is super useful!

Someone who has been working on this/is qualified to answer:

- I believe NJCL Certamen Advanced winning team should be added on to the same NAQT/Science Bowl winner. There are less competitors, but the difficulty of questions and depth of knowledge required to win the Advaced championship is extremely high.
- Similarly, NJCL Certamen/Harvard Certamen MVP should be added on. I'd like to say NJCL MVP should be placed at an 8/7 (only 1 in the country, but not a 9/10 due to less participants) and Harvard at a 7/6.
- NJCL Exam High Scorer should definitely be higher than a 5. Just to clarify: getting a 1st place is not the same as getting a high score - the high score winner has the "high score" of the 6 first place winners. This is definitely far more difficult than NLE perfect paper, which many students (I think in the 100s) get in the country each year. However, for the competitive NJCL exams like Derivatives, Vocabulary, Advanced Grammar, Roman History, Mythology, and Latin Literature, I think a high score is far more prestigious, perhaps enough to be an 8.

What do you guys say? I want to make sure this makes sense before I update

More Awards to add to the list

Requests for a few other awards to be ranked:

- NCWIT National Winner/National Runner Up/State Winner
- Final call on Jeopardy/Quiz TV Show appearance?
- Medusa Mythology Exam Gold Medal
- PACE Quiz Bowl
- Technovation Challenge Winner (I'd think this one would be similar to FIRST Robotics or whatever the high school equivalent is)
- Some state level math award like this: Massachusetts Association of Mathematics Leagues
