How do YOU fight procrastination?

I told myself this past weekend was going to be really productive. I literally didn't get any work done. I just wasted most of my time on the computer...

Plus, I'm a senior this year applying to top colleges so I can't afford to procrastinate...which is why I need your help.

CC, how do you fight procrastination?

With my lance. I have a friend that follows me with two coconut halves so it sounds like I am riding a horse.

But seriously, computers are a huge time waster for me too. I try to do as much as I can off the computer. I procrastinate a lot too, so I'm not the best person to give advice.

I'm wondering the same thing. Right now I'm attempting to do my Stats homework but it's boring.

I usually blast my music, the music I listen to really gets me motivated. When I'm not really feeling the whole music thing, I usually set up little rewards for myself. Right now I'm studying for AP Biology and I have an ice-cream sandwich in the freezer calling my name.

I don't. My spine is as mushable as a banana. I just go with the flow.

I'm a huge procrastinator, but I've been trying to improve a lot this year. I normally listen to classical music to help me focus on the task at hand, and every 45 minutes or so, I'll procrastinate a little bit and then get right back to what I was doing (as in, I tell myself I'll watch 15 minutes of YT videos or spend 15 minutes on CC or something. because I can actually do that and not get totally sidetracked). Normally, I get all my easy homework ("busy" work) done first before going to the more difficult stuff (for me, that's essay writing). For a lot of people, this doesn't help, but it's pretty effective for me.

Oh, yeah, and stay off the computer. Most of my homework actually requires the computer, but if I really need to focus on something that doesn't require computer work, then I shut off my laptop and go to another room. Also, if my parents are in the room, I'm less likely to procrastinate on CC or wherever.

Beat it with a stick!! No not really I do my homework almost immediately after I get home(20 minute break inbetween). I am a GIANT Procrastinator, so I force myself to work first then relax. I have a giant whiteboard above my desk with assignments due within 3 days, projects, and long-term things to study(SAT and PSAT). I listen to music when I work on my homework and have a planner that I take to school to write my assignments down. During the weekend you can be less productive, but you can guesstimate the approximent amount of homework in hours, then you need to tell yourself, "I have So and So amount and they are due on this day, if I work on part of it today, then I'll have more time to do This and That." TIME MANAGEMENT IS KEY!!!! And self motivation, what do you want to do, is not doing this class going to help me reach my goal? Breaks are important though, they help destress you which is very important. Get off the Internet and NO TV! Hope this helps
