SAT and ACT scores sent to High Schools

I didn't know which thread to post this in, but when SAT and ACT scores are sent to your high schools, do they usually save them or just throw them out?

Also, is it possible to not send your SAT scores to your high school. I tried to not send them, but college board requires that you put down the HS you go to, which they then send the SAT scores to.

I know my school puts the scores on your transcript. I'm pretty sure other schools do the same. Besides not indicating your high school, I don't think you can prevent scores from being sent to your school. Colleges, though will look at the scores you send them.
