Best Backpacks?

Hey guys! So we've all probably shelled out a bunch of money on a backpack, expecting it to last years, only to find that it breaks after about a year and a half, right?

That's exactly what happened to me. I had a backpack that ripped, so I decided to get a new one (plus it was getting too small to hold all of my books). So I went out and bought a Swiss Gear backpack for around $100 dollars. I loved it so much... It was roomy, comfortable, had lots of pockets, and just everything you could hope for in a backpack! Anyways, I had it for about a year and a half, and it broke apart on me yesterday... The zipper came off, then the other one got stuck, and it started tearing, and basically, I had to carry my backpack in my arms for the rest of the day. I was quite disappointed to find out that this "great" backpack couldn't last.

So now, I want you guys to recommend some totally awesome backpacks to me! I need it to be big and roomy, and would like it to have pockets for extra organization... Thanks guys!

I bought a Burton snowboarding backpack for around 40 bucks in my freshamn year and its going strong on its third year, the first two of which were brutal on it.

My only problem with it is that its kind of tall and doesn't expand much. Not really much of a problem now since I use less binders now.

L.L Bean & Lands End have good ones....no joke, I bought a Lands End one in 6th Grade. Still works well Sophomore year! I wanted to get a new one this past year, but didn`t find anything I liked. I mean, one of the tabs on the zippers came off, but that`s to be expected after a few years. North Face also has good ones, I hear.

I agree about L.L. Bean. I purchased one for this school year and so far it has been great!

L.L. Bean's backpacks are excellent. I've had the same one since 5th grade (currently a junior), and it's still in great shape. Expands a lot so it can hold (right now) three binders, four two-pocket folders, two spiral notebooks, my pencil bag, some notebook paper, my assignment book, my vocabulary book, my English class book, calculator, and flashcards for APUSH--in the main back pocket. In the other big-ish pocket I have a water bottle, colored pencils, my wallet, my phone, and my ipod. Then there's two pockets in the front that I use for miscellaneous small stuff.

My Lands End one holds 3 two inch binders, a folder, a couple notebooks, a book, my graphing calculator, and my 15.6'' laptop. It can fit more than that. And that`s just the inner main compartment. It also has a compartment at the bottom to put shoes in, so I always put my shoes in there during track season. In the outer compartment, I put my iPod, phone, and random junk in there, and it can also hold two water bottles.

So there`s two excellent reviews! Now just pick one

^ Yeah, go LL Bean, because I personally think they`re better looking than Lands End.

My High Sierra backpack has lasted through four years of high school and all of the abuse accompanying those four years Besides one small tear (which has not affected normal use) and some grime (what do you expect from four years of daily use), it is still an excellent backpack.

I second what chewydog said, except I don't even have a tear in mine despite all the crap I've put it through. High Sierra all the way!

Yeah, I had a PBTeen one for four years, no wear and tear at all. I mean that. It was too small, though, so I upgraded to a North Face. Real nice but double the price of the pottery barn one and no verdict on durability yet. My sister buys Puma shoes every year at back to school and gets a free backpack.
