There is always the generic bake sale thing you mentioned.

I guess it depends on what your physics club does. If it participates in physics competitions and teaches physics and math and stuff to younger kids, you could get sponsorship from local companies.

My Robotics team does this. I'm not sure if there are companies in your are willing to sponsor but look into it.

It depends on what you want to spend the money on, in some cases there are grants.

For our club, we are making boo bags. It's kind of like candy grams. We Fill up little bags with halloween candy. Students and teachers can buy them got their friends. And they can attach messages to them, or send them anonymously. We are going to distribute them during first period on Halloween.

What do you need the money for? Seed money, equipment, base expenses, trips?

Pop can drive, car wash, science day for elementary kids (have experiments set up as centers, nominal charge), silent auction. Many chain restaurants offer a percentage of sales on weekday nights and club members serve and bus.

Latin Club sells carnations before Valentine's Day, delivers hourly with note signed or anonymous. Boo bags sound similar and easy!

Just depends how ambitious you want to be.

Clubs here mostly sell food. The muffins from Costco (they come in trays of six) are really popular. Krispy Kreme doughnuts go fast. Then there's always Pop Tarts, Rice Krispies treats, or candy bars, which are sold at the school store too, but there's the convenience of being able to buy it during class.
