Unfortunately, I fall asleep myself during this time period as well. I usually have my boyfriend text me to wake me up, putting the phone right next to my head and having my volume all the way up.

| How do you manage to not to fall asleep in afternoon?
I take a nap every afternoon no matter how many hours I have slept the night before. Now, the napping habit is becoming a problem since it is usually one and a half to two hours long, even if I have set the alarm. I would like to dedicate more time to studying.
Feeling tired and sleepy in afternoon is normal since our body temperature drops during that time, but some people seem to be able to overcome their desire to sleep more easily than others.
Any ideas on how to stay awake in the afternoon? No coffee for me, by the way, so don't mention it.

I really love this post. I ALWAYS do this! Just last night, I fell asleep for four hours, when I was only suppose to take a short half-hour nap... And nothing wakes me up! I turn alarms off, and when family tries waking me up, I don't remember the millions of times they tried... I'm looking for an answer just as much as you are.... (Sigh)

I guess a lot of it is just habit, your body's got into this sleep routine now.
Maybe try doing some exercise or something at the time you normally sleep, should keep you awake and energised |

I usually run and then take a shower to stay awake.

Mkorosmart: The same thing always happens to me too! I usually set the alarm for only one hour but when it rings I just turn it off and continue to sleep.

I dunno, I just don't.
After like 7 or so i'm pretty much dead to the world except for extremely menial homework assignments and half-arsed longer assignments.
Although it sounds counter-intuitive, I wake up early in the morning and get to school early. Most days I have 30~35 minutes in absolute peace and quiet by myself in a whole wing of my school. I try to save that time for reading a book or other similarly relaxing activities. It helps get my day going and keeps me going throughout the day.
Also, lots of snack food.

This is ironic because I just fell asleep at around 2:30 today -_-. I can usually stay awake if I'm doing something *important* but it all goes downhill if it's something I consider trivial.

I have the same problem. On days when I have after school activities and keep moving, I'm fine. However, on the days when I have nothing, I like to give myself about an hour of relaxing or fun time before getting into studying, but I always fall asleep and then can't get up ever.

I just don't. I know the consequences if I do. (I won't be able to sleep at night.)
