Course Scheduling Help? I need help!

I will be a sophomore next year, and we are getting scheduling done. This is my so far schedule.

AP Statistics
Pre-Calc/Trig
Honors English 10
Honors Chemistry 10
French 3
Newspaper Publications

I have one more spot, and i have a couple questions. It is a history spot, but it isn't necessary sophomore year. I have narrowed down my options. I either want to take AP European History or Introduction to Engineering Design, which is 5.0. I want to major either in business or medical fields. I just want to know which would be a better choice

SIDE NOTE: I did not take AP World History this year, I took regular world history and got an A.

Thanks

There's no way your school is doing scheduling right now.

Wow your course selection is much different than mine! I live in Fairfax County, which is really competitive, go to a top 100 high-school and they don't offer an AP until sophomore year!

I would suggest taking Engineering Design since it most likely pertains to your college/ job interests. Possibly consider taking a marketing class.
Also, AP Euro is really difficult as I have been told, but could be easier at your school so I do not know..
If you don't like a subject such as history, and its not required, don't take it! It might look good on college resumes but its most likely not required, especially AP Euro.

Hope this helped

If you're applying to top schools, then it really depends. You want to have the most rigorous course load at your school if possible. At my school, it's common to take 2+ APs sophomore year and someone applying to top schools would. It all depends relative to your school.

What school thought it was a smart idea to not require history? I hope you plan on taking history every other year, otherwise you might not have enough...

Personally, i'd drop a math class (IMO AP Stats is less useful than Pre-Calc/Trig), then take both the intro to engineering class and AP Euro. Or, if you don't feel like AP Euro is your thing or it doesn't work out, take some other history class.

Maybe i'm biased because i'm going to be a history major in college, but I don't see what good comes out of not having the five cores almost every year in HS. I hated Emglish every year from middle school to 11th and if it wasn't required I would've dropped it. But I stuck it out, and thanks to some awesome teachers and interesting English electives, I actually really like English. I'm sure you'd enjoy a history class.

Also, wow, I thought my school was bad for making us pick in February. I cringe at having to envision your next year of classes in November...
