Advice on transferring back: 2nd semester, junior year?

Hello there!

So my situation is that I am considering potentially returning to my previous high school to finish my second semester of junior year and then senior year.

THE SITUATION:
This summer, I moved from Ohio - where I had lived for 8 years - to South Carolina. The relocation has certainly been stressful and I am just really struggling to do well in school: GPA dropped from 3.96 to 3.62, started failing (and I mean real failing, like 60-70%) some tests which caused some of my class averages to drop from As to low Bs (note: at the SC school, there are no "minuses" or "pluses"; only solid As, Bs, Cs, etc.) and having trouble making friends.

Just recently when I came back to visit, my best friend and her family mentioned that they're worried that I'm having a hard time adjusting and offered for me to move back to live with the and finish high school back in Ohio.

SEEKING ADVICE ON:
My biggest concerns with taking the transfer are:
- transferring school credits: especially for AP Language and Composition - not offered at the SC school - and Honors Pre-Calc - the teacher at my OH school teaches at a very advanced level, so if I do transfer, I'd have to drop back down to regular Pre-Calc
- adjusting to living away from home: though I am more than comfortable staying with my friend and her family, I worry about not getting to see my parents as often, not eating my mom's cooking, etc.
- The big "C"...college: how could my transfer affect my college application process?
My options of colleges at SC are much more favorable than my options in OH; is there any way I could still keep my SC residency and still apply for colleges there as an in-state student? Also, how would my transfer appear on my transcript (meaning how would potential colleges perceive it)?

Thanks in advance! (:
