How do I keep calm when I take a test?!!?

AP Calculus gives me so much anxiety. When we take tests and quizzes I have no confidence and always screw up. Today I redid every problem I got wrong on an old test as a way to test myself and I got them ALL right, without cheating or studying.

I was completely relaxed when I was doing them but when I'm in that class I get so anxious and I realized I made stupid mistakes on about 10 questions that I knew how to do I try to breath in breath out but it doesn't work. I'm afraid I'll get a C in that class and not get into the schools I want because of it

Work more slowly. Check your work. Calm down and think through the problems. Even if you have to stay after class to finish.

While you are waiting to take a test, don't study. Instead, read something funny.

@Stressn - that might have very well been the best advice I've ever heard... My God. I get so stressed out in the five or so minutes before a test because I'm trying to somehow retain all of the material I studied the night before, all over again... I get so frantic... I'm going to bring some Cyanide and Happiness comic strips before my WHAP tests. Thank you. I'm not even the OP. But still. Thank you.

No. Don't play games before the test or do anything stimulating.Henever I play games, I'm still thinking about it for quite some time.

Last year, I watched a kdrama(the whole thing)the night before my chem final and got a B+ on the test. It was one of the stupidest things I've ever done.

Drink lots of water, and breathe between each question.

^ You should breathe.

Also, get lots of sleep.

One thing that I do to boost my confidence when taking a test is studying until I'm satisfied that I know most or all of the material. If you're confident, but not too confident, then there's no reason to have anxiety!

I can relate to this. Before my first tests in Calc last year, due to a terrible teacher who utterly destroyed my confidence, I almost had panic attacks. It was that bad.

I agree. Don't do much studying the night before, go over concepts in your head and as soon as you see a problem...attack that ************. Don't let yourself think about anything but the test and just go for it. You can do it!

I'm in the same situation I hate my math class. What helps me is breathing and I read *** blogs before the test in the phone. Also always eliminate two choices to increase ur chances

When you take the test, think about the time you took it at home and got every question right. Remember that you can do this.
If that doesn't work out, then try asking your teacher if you can take it after school or something, maybe the pressure will be less intense when you are not surrounded by other people who are freaking out.
