| Seating Charts
At your school do teachers (generally) give a seating chart, let the kids make up a permanent seating chart, or let you sit anywhere?
Right now, 2 of my teachers let us sit wherever, and 2 have their own seating chart. Seating charts are never fully followed.

Most teachers here use a seating chart... but in most cases the students fill it in where they want to sit(be it by their friends or whatever they want.)

It's mostly sit whereever you want. One of my teachers moved my seat away from my friends to the middle of nowhere, and not because I was talking, but because she felt like it. Wh*re.

My entire Spanish class had a new seating arrangement today. I got moved four seats to the left in the same row... pretty pointless but whatever.
Three of my teachers don't care where we sit, two don't care either, but they force us to mingle around once in a while (without a seating chart, so I guess it's not that bad), and one (Spanish) teacher changes the chart every six weeks.

I've got a seating chart in all of my classes this year, but they're not always strictly followed. I've had classes where we didn't have a seating chart, but often we'd all sit in pretty much the same places anyway.

Calc - seating chart, must follow
Chem - self-chosen seating chart, wouldn't care if we didn't follow it, but we like it anyway (that's why we chose it)
Bio - new self-chosen seating chart every marking period (unless if you come late the day we're choosing, in which case you're screwed unless if your friends really love you... luckily mine do =P)
Lang - no formal seating chart but we always sit in the same places anyway
US - same as Lang
French - same as Lang/US
-
I now realize that I work better with a seating chart or in classes without my friends. They really distract me and so I don't take my classes seriously. Thus... my grades suck this year. :\

Yes... but they are hardly imposed. There are very few students in my classes (less than 15 usually) so the classroom is fairly fluid in terms of seating arrangements.

1st hour- Seating chart that the students determined on the first day of class
2nd hour- Seating chart that the students determined on the first day of class
3rd hour- No seating chart, but everyone sits in the same spots anyways.
4th hour- Seating chart that the students determined on the first day of class.
Hmmm, I wonder if the teachers at our school are sick of trying to come up with a workable seating chart.

In all my classes this year, we sit where we want, but, without fail, we all settled into a seat within the first week. Except in Art Studio, but that's a given seeing as the layout of the room changes often anyways.

leadership- give me a break it's barely a class at all.
psych/soc- you sit where she puts you. always.
vid production- where we sat first day is where we are.
english- sometimes seating chart, but you can usually move if you dont like where you sit. and once a semester we can sit where we want.
govt/econ- you picked where you sit on the first day.
TA- well i sit in the same spot by the computer, but he gives the class a seating chart and i'm a beeyotch and make them stay there cuz it sucks when i have to take role and they are here there and everywhere.
