June 2017 Living Environment Regents

rangersdude812rangersdude812 Registered User Posts: 23 New Member
Just finished taking it and had some questions:
1. Florida Panther question -- lack of genetic variability or lack of competition?
2. Orange tree question -- I put frost resistance. Is that acceptable?
3. Last question -- the fragments move because of the positive charge, right?
4. Bar graph - I used a scale of 6 on the y axis from 35-95... is this okay?
5. The sperm question - I switched my answer from they all have a Y chromosome to they all have half the typical chromosome number. Is that correct?

Thanks

    1. I put variability
    2. Forgot
    3. Same as what I put
    4. I did the same scale (after a lot of trial and error)
    5. Same as what I put

I found it a bit harder then the past regents I practiced. Crossing my fingers!

    1. Variability
    2. I put strong trunks they accept pretty much anything that makes sense
    3. I put they move from the opposite charges, but I included the speed they move is based on size because I wasn't sure what it wanted
    4. I went 34-94
    5. I wrote their chromosome number is haploid

    I have some questions too.
-For the one with the pyramids and the beef cattle and vegetables: i put that vegetables r producers and as a result they have more biomass
-For the question about which group of organisms make dead animals in the sea recycle: i put decomposers
-and finally for the question about how eggs can be stopped from being released during pregnancy: i put that negative feedback due to high levels of progesterone prevents the eggs from being released.
Btw for the graph you cant start at 35. You can't have a gap between 0 and 35 you have to have a constant scale. I just started at 0 and went up by a scale of 10 until i reached 100.

    1. Genetic Variability
    2. Strong trunks/branches
    3. I said gel electrophoresis, whoops
    4. 0-100 (by 10's)
    5. I forgot :( probably incorrect

I don't think it's a break tho. Let's say you had to fill out the x axis rather than the y axis. You wouldn't start at 0 for the years, right? You would've started at the first year. Same thing for the percentages. If there were no percentages from 0-35, then why include them?

    Diff rules for y-axis

What did you put as answers for my questions?
  • Sumrandomguy357Sumrandomguy357 Registered User Posts: 12 New Member
Lol how did you take the test 15 hours before i did?

The living environment Regents was today. Are you talking about the earth science regents?
  • Sumrandomguy357Sumrandomguy357 Registered User Posts: 12 New Member
Nah im talking about living env. Ibut it said that you posted the question 15 hours ago so i was confused but i looked again and it said you texted it at 2:32 so nevermind. What did you put as answers to my questions?
  • rangersdude812rangersdude812 Registered User Posts: 23 New Member
    @Sumrandomguy357 answers to ur questions
    1. I would say you are right. I put that energy is lost at each level.
    2. Yes
    3. Yes
Answer to my q: Why can't I go by six though? 35,41,47,53,59,65,71,77,83,89,95 is a constant scale! No breaks. If 0 isn't included then it's not counted as a break

    1. They looove genetic variability
    2. I put high crop yield, I'm sure a ton of answers would be accepted.
    3. I said capillary action... I'm not sure if that's correct but can someone back this up?
    4. I went up from 35 by 10.. :/ I think it went to 95. I also made the bars so they could be easily differentiated (<--- haha)
    5. I also said that they would have half the amount of chromosomes.

6? What did you guys get for that one multiple choice question with mitosis and meiosis in the choices along with differentiation and some other terms. I can't remember the actual question though..

If you look at previous regents answers of questions that tell you to have no breaks in data they all begin in 0. (exmp. the answer to question 45 of the January 25 2017 regents) I don't really know what's considered a break in data but i labeled the y axis in a scale of 10 all the way to 100. Anyways would insect resistance be a valid answer for the oranges question? I had no idea what to put. :((

    @Joshguzmn
dude chill, I'm sure insect resistance would work - that's probably one of the more valid answers as long as it wasn't the one they already gave. As for breaks in data, they don't mean you can't start at 35. If the first value is (39 I think it was) then you can plot 35 as your first coord.

Also do you guys remember any other questions?
