How hard is AP Macroeconomics?

Hey everyone. I know the difficulty of a class varies from school to school. But, in general, I was wondering how difficult AP Econ is. This is the only class I'm slightly apprehensive about for next year. This is because I don't know what type of work I'll be doing. Is there difficult math? Meaning, above Pre-Algebra graphing? Is there essay writing? I excel more in reading and writing WAY more than math. What challenges will the course bring?

Please, post your thoughts on AP Econ.

:)

Really? And honestly, are you "good" at math?

What types of assignments were there?
How well did you do on the exam?

I 5'd the calc bc and macro exam if you're wondering. however, macro does not require any strong math skills at ALL. seriously.

you can 5 the macro exam by reading over princeton review. no joke. look through the guide and that'll give you an idea of what to expect.

Okay, I'm trusting you! lol :)

Good job on your scores... The fact that you got a 5 on Calc BC tells me that you're lightyears ahead of me in math skill. Honestly, math perplexes me.

    :/

So you'd recommend Princeton Review as the definitive review book, right?

Easy. A lot of people rank it as the easiest after Psych.

My HS claims it has the best AP Economic program in the world (I don't know who comes up with this stuff) And my teacher is proud that in her seven years of teaching both Micro and Macro only eight kids have gotten 3's or below. She was a bit intense....

That said, Macro is by far the easiest (Compared to Micro), and involves math-free graphing, logic, and other simple tasks. The challenge is that economics is something that most people have never learned before (obviously), and thus you end up having to learn a completely new thing from the ground up (opposed to math where things just get more complex)

Econ was my favorite class (I took both Macro and Micro back to back semesters) and with out any studying outside of class work I got a 4 and a 5 respectively.

Meh. I thought it was insanely easy even though I had to basically self-study through the thing because we had a first-year teacher. :| Though I was surprised a bit by the test, I still got a 5.
