Well, congratulations to everybody. Don't worry, CA fellows, I have heard and seen nothing about winners. Patience (I can't believe I just said that; I want to KILL somebody at Scholastic!!!)

Well, anyway, about NYC in Carnegie -- do you have to pay your way there??

Oh yes, you def have to pay your own way and pay for the hotel--they do give you info on what hotel they have negotiated a cheap rate with...grab that as it has generally been less $$ but it does sell out. Good luck! and Congratulations!

hah...this is awful...I was like, "well, if I don't hear today then I'm FINALLY going to give up," but people in Cali still haven't heard, so I can't give up yet. Mrrr....it's very inconvenient >

Also.

"To give you an idea of how many qualify for national level review, panels of professional jurors reviewed more than 7,148 works of art and 1,717 manuscripts to select the 1,400 national award recipients in 2006"
--------This statement was copied form the SA&WA page. Can someone estimate how many writing awards will be given of say (1,400)?

I think that people that got national awards got an e-mail notification, but the RAL regional awards are still "in the mail"...

The only national winners notified by e-mail were the portfolio winners, who were announced in an e-mail last week. Every other national category is notified by regular mail, and it doesn't seem like anyone has gotten a letter for nationals yet.
