Hey!!! Everyone who has receive notification...Congratulations!!!

Could someone answer the following questions for me?

1. If you submitted a personal essay/memoir RAL will you be notified by email or mail, or both. If both, will the email be of a national award notification? Or regional.

2. If you live in Georgia, and have heard nothing yet, can it be assumed that your submission will not be recognized?

3. Can you sue the postoffice if your mailman always puts your mail in your neighbor's mailbox? (Forget this one...frustation).

4. Mail sucks.---sorry, not a question.

Thanks!

I'm on the east coast and I got my letter yesterday saying I won a national gold award in writing. I also received the e-mail vegangirl got. I'm guessing that anyone who won a national award would probably have gotten at least the e-mail by now - the official letter may take a few days.

ped--

well, I still haven't heard anything from RAL...but I probably just didn't get anything. But people are already hearing from nationals, so...it doesn't look good. I'm just sort of baffled at the way scholastic does all of this...it's so scatter-brained. It kind of amuses me

There are a variety of workshops for all types of the awards from art to writing, they are not required, they post the list and you sign up when you check in . The earlier you check in, the more choice
The way they have done it in the past is you go to the Scholastic area in the hotel--it will be in the packet you get with your award notice what hotel etc. SO you go during the times that are listed, they check you in, give you your medal(s) and then you can sign up for workshops, tours etc. It is good to stay at the hotel that they have because everything revolves around that area. When you go to Carnegie Hall, you should be wearing your medal, all of the gold winners sit together and the families sit elsewhere. Hope this helps and congratulations

Have you won the novel gold award or something? They only issue one gold award, so it would at least put me out the misery of waiting if I know I haven't won!
