| Don't worry LesOs - my teacher got the notification e-mail, not me; I haven't recieved direct notification yet (my teacher's e-mail said the details of my award would be explained in info that they'd mail in the next couple of weeks). Perhaps the teacher you listed on your application has gotten some kind of notice. |

| I'm 1/2 relieved... and 1/2 even more stressed out now. Because, if I don't get in, I'd rather find out personally than find out through my English teacher.... that situation would be pretty sad. Wow, I'm pessimistic! |

| Yep...that makes sense. I'm expecting rejection, cuz I have 0 faith in my writing, haha. I wish that they provided some sort of feedback once they read the pieces... |

| Me too... but I think that I would cry while reading it, and spend the next week hanging my head in shame. Heh.
PS- Not really. I'm not as pathetic as I make myself sound =) ...Really. |

| Whoops! I wouldn't want to do that!
Well, I have English for the first time in three days tomorrow (because of field trips, illnesses, and guidance appointments, in case anyone was wondering =D), so I guess I'll find out then... maybe? Hopefully? I can't take the suspense! |

incidentally, does anyone know when in june the national awards ceremony (in NYC) takes place? not that i have any delusions about my eligibility for said occasion...although i guess it'll be a while before i know for sure. |

| im a junior:
entered photos in regional: 1 certificate, 2 silver, 1 gold!!!!!!!!!! cant wait to hear back.
writing (region-at-large) (quote from previous thread):
"btw, i also submitted some poetry to the region at large. i've got two questions:
1) would anyone care to see it (i need their real email though b/c if i just insert it into the text box all the line breaks and stuff will get ruined; thus, i need to attach it)?
2) If I was supposed to submit it by January 8 and I Fedexed it on January 8 (b.c the post offices were closed by the time i had time to submit it (which is after school) with a date label and i fedexed it to the art and writing awards (b/c fedex doesnt work for p.o. boxes) with an 8.5X11 envelope inside addressed to the p.o. box work? Especailly b/c i reread the rules on the 9th and saw the word postmarked uinderlined! I know what i did sounds last minute but i had problems with getting a signature and stuff, so yea. Any responses would be great (i heard that the awards are kinda forgiving, but let me know). Anecdotes would be especially helpful!"
a guy from scholastic said he'd keep an eye out for it. that was like 2-3 months ago. i emailed them just to confirm about a week ago but i still have yet to receive a response.
*fingers crossed!* |
