I think the packet said something like 550/1000 people went to it last year, which struck me as being pretty impressive since it's in NYC.

I'm currently formulating a proposal for my parents: four years of unspent babysitting wages comes in handy right about...now.

Do you think if we don't go they send us our medals? Because that's all I really care about. I'd like to hang it on my wall.

If I'd won, would I have gotten something in the mail already? The website says mid-April but it seems like most of you guys have already received notification...

i'm not going to nyc lol

^ I'm not sure-- scholastic seems sort of disorganized with the awards, so maybe you still have a chance depending on your category and region? It is sort of late now though, because they did send the earliest awards at the end of march.

If you don't go, they'll mail it to you--I think it said late July.

National silver for General Writing Portfolio! I must say I'm pretty surprised.

Our school's county website already has the awards listed...no portfolio golds at all, it seems, but I think someone mentioned portfolio golds were being sent out later than the others? Haha part of me is just holding out for Art Portfolio but it probably didn't happen.

Congratulations to all of you guys! I was hoping to enter this for the first time this year, but that didn't work out because of family issues...

Good luck to everyone going to NYC!

Sadly, I don't think the NYC thing is going to happen. I can always hope for next year, I guess.

On a side note, did anyone join the "Gold Key Society"?

I didn't get any national awards, so I'm kind of sad. But whatever, I guess. Congratulations to all those who did.

I do have one question, though. Was I supposed to fax that student notification report and consent sheet? Because I didn't. So would they not have judged my Short Short Story because I never verified the information?
