I'm ok with respsonsible drinking and weed, but not with excessive drinking and other drugs

addiction is the aspect that I look down upon, but everyone has flaws and if someone is cool when I'm hanging out with them who am I to say, "well you drink, so that means you have no redeeming qualities." Once it comes to the point when someone really doesn't have any redeeming qualities because the other stuff has taken over their life I begin to think poorly of them.

take 2 people, 1 grows weed in their basement and is a really cool guy and the other is stuck up and only cares about her gpa. I'm friends with the one that gets high

one thing about drinking that I hate is when someone who is a responsible drinker thinks it's ok to drink in front of 8 year olds just because they are not getting drunk

I think weed and alcohol is fine as long as it is in moderation (hookah too). Anything else, I may judge.

I used to (when I was a freshman), but now as a senior I don't really care. I still don't drink or smoke, but I know that I'll probably drink when I go to France and in college. I think that getting "completely wasted" EVERY single weekend is stupid... but if one of my friends were to get really drunk, I doubt that I'd think any less of them.
I have asthma, so I could never smoke (and I wouldn't want to, either), but I have friends who do, and it doesn't bother me. They can do whatever they want, as long as they don't try to pressure me into doing it, too.

I think I'm more inclined to judge the people in this topic for judging those drink and smoke and do drugs.

I hardly hold anything against people who drink and smoke. Obviously, alcohol and more so smoking are acquired tastes, so what annoys me is the fact that a lot of teenagers force themselves to like it just so they can fit in (drunken facebook pics anyone?). A little bit of alcohol is fun though since it loosens tension, but drinking to the point of vomiting/sickness is dumb.

I don't judge if they're just doing it at home and not hurting anyone.

I do, however, think driving drunk is completely irresponsible.

As long as the only person they're going to hurt is themselves, it doesn't matter, but once they start endangering other people, they become huge jerks.

I judge people who drink for the sake of getting drunk. If you drink and you're underage, but you're drinking for the taste, I'm okay with it. Otherwise, you're just making yourself look like an idiot, and that's sad.

I hate cigarettes. I think they should be banned, because they don't do any good for anyone. They give smokers cancer, they give people around smokers cancer, they smell bad, they make your teeth yellow, and they make you cough uncontrollably. Oh, and packs are $5 or more. Why would anyone start such a disgusting habit?

I admit that I judge people whether or not they do those things, and although I do not consciously think that people who drink or smoke are worse, I probably do unconsciously. For most drugs, I do that consciously.

i judge, but it's definitly on character. i'd take talking to a pothead with good ideas and a fun personality (yes, there are smart and interesting potheads...all you have to do is step into my ap stats class) over a totally clean and boring person. There's nothing wrong with a little fun once in a while.
