| Do you have to be fancy to ask someone out to prom? Haha, my friends are suggesting the craziest ideas...creating a math formula that has the shape of a heart (cardioid), creating a treasure hunt around the school that ends in a letter saying "will you go to prom with me?", a black fish (***???), etc.
Seriously, do I have to be that fancy? I know the person decently well, and I just plan to go as friends, so can't I just say, "I really value your friendship; would you like to go to prom with me?" |

| Hahahh that would be cheesily funny but I think it would be fine to say something like "I really like you, will you go to the prom with me?" or something like that. It also depends on the person too, if they're more laid back then that would be fine- no need to get fancy. |

| That would be beyond awkward and unnecessary. Just get into a chilled out conversation, get on the topic of prom. Ask if she is going with anyone, when she says know, ask if she would like to go with you. Simple, easy, and effective. Be cool about it, don't make yourself look like a weirdo. Let everything else go unsaid. |

| I asked my date over Facebook.
The "hey, prom causes so much drama, do you want to just go as friends" route works really well, and the only real requirement is that you're actually friends. |

| I would recommend buying a gross (144) of roses and then laying them out on her front lawn in a pattern that says "I humbly request your presence by my side at prom" in Latin. |

| If you are just going as friends, you can be plain about it and just ask at a lunch |

| Don't just go straight up to her and ask. Do something that shows your creative side...but also don't overdo it with something huge like fireworks, a vocal group, etc. |

| Not. True. At. All. (well maybe for some, but for most, don't go crazy...) Quote: |

| Do go straight up to her and ask. Don't be like "Hey wanna go to the prom with me?" out of nowhere but do ease it in to a conversation so that it's very casual.
Girls like confidence. Unless you're looking for "just a prom date" and not looking to get anywhere further, then sure, you can do the whole creative thing and be immediately placed in the friend zone.
Good Lord, instead of taking Calculus you guys should be taking Get Some Game 101. |

| Don't be all creative and fancy. You aren't trying to show some grand symbol of undying affection. You are just asking someone to go to a dance with you. Trust me, the fanciness of how you ask won't change what the result is going to be. If she wants to go with you then she will say yes no matter how you ask. |
