| It is good to do multiple languages at the same time! In ninth grade, I used to do five languages (Latin, ancient Greek, German, French, English, which is a foreign language for me) |

| Thanks you guys.
I am still thinking because I do not know if I am a language person or not.
I am just afraid if I do not do well, it will pull my average down.
I am pretty sure that I will take Latin but still hesitating about French. I like French want to take it. How about Spanish ? |

| Spanish seems easier (at least pronunciation and spelling-wise), but I haven't taken French before, so I wouldn't really know how they compare. |

| Have you taken Spanish before?
Assuming you live in the US, I suppose Spanish would be a more useful language than French (the opposite for me is true, yay for two official languages!). Does that play into consideration at all?
In terms of taking either French or Spanish with Latin, I don't think there would be a huge difference. |

| I would think in Vietnam you'd find more literature on French because of the former French influence in the region. But that's just my uneducated opinion.
Yes, I'm a Latin hater. I've seen too many adults who took only Latin and now regret it because they have no knowledge of any foreign languages. |

| You are right at that point. All of my grandparents speak French, my mother was major in French, my father studied French and English in college. I was about to study French instead of English when I first went to school. I started in a French class.
Now I come to the US, find that a lot of kids study Spanish.
I like to study a lot of languages. I studied Chinese for a while last year. I want to study Swedes too.
Which one is better for me Spanish or French ? |

| once you learn one language it becomes easier to learn others
I spoke polish first, then english, then french
try to learn as many as you can, if not for collegiate purposes it just develops you as a person
take as many aps as you are comfotable with, junior year I took ap us and language, now senior year I take ap 2d art, ap langauge, ap government, and ap psy
ap calc is hard, so maybe you want to go easier on your course load so you can focus on getting high grades in those classes |

| I am having a 99 average in AP Cal now but struggling with the AP test. I have done a practice test on Tuesday and going to do one today. I did not do well on the last one.
So should I take Latin then French or Spanish or Latin and French or Spanish ? |

| I've taken Latin since sixth grade and I started Spanish this year (sophomore year). I found it pretty simple to catch onto. Latin is definitely a good base for most other languages. I think it'll help a lot with French; it did with Spanish. It's also good for SAT-vocab. |
