Awards?

Hey

I have a bit of a dilemma. My school does not offer any awards or such that are worth mentioning. most are for most improved and such, and since I was never had a huge grade jump, I am not eligible.

I was wondering if there are any awards or contests for the end of this year early next year which I would be able to put on my resume. I don't really care if it a really small thing or really big, I just want to get a certificate in the mail and be able to write it down.

I know about the AMC and Intel, and I did not qualify for National Merit.

Just a example of my stats:
101 weighted average
8 AP classes
2140SAt
~31 act

I would really like to win any awards, please help me.

US Physics Olympiad, US Chem Olympiad, National AP Scholar (good for people like you who take lots of AP tests), ISEF (distinct from Intel), Siemens.

There's also this thread from way back:

Are there any non-science awards that one can be nominated for? As in, something in the humanities?

{Because I suck at mathematics and science}

Honestly your best bet.... as someone had just mentioned above. Also, i hope you know what awards you're aiming for. Aim for the awards that are with subjects you're interested in. Many awards such as National Merit Finals, or Presidential Scholar Canditate come from simply having a good PSAT / SAT score, and good grades. Also, that's where many silly but highly overrated awards such as good citizen award, or national honor roll, or book awards, and random "honors" awards from places i've never heard of come in. Are those the awards you're aiming for since you've seen them all over CC?

Also, you don't have to get awards. You can do a service project, or something related to that, or start your own business.

Yes. I have seen in all the chance threads kids with awards that literally take up the whole page. Considering I have NONE, I think I will be at a disadvantage. Could you guys tell me where I can get some of those book awards, good citizen awards, or those "random" honors awards?
