At my HS, there's 4 classes you can take based on difficulty. Academic prep, (lowest level)College prep (standard),Advanced,Pre AP/AP classes. While they way they do the GPA is soo messed up. I got literally straight A's in College prep level classes, but my gpa out of 4 is a 2. A 2!!! ***? literally the only way to get a 4.0 at my school, is to take all Ap classes and get 100's. Its f***ing stupid. This year i took 5 College prep classes, 2 pre ap classes. When i apply to colleges, they'll think i have a 2.0 and i dont do work, when i literally got straight A's.
Should i be worried? They'll see my transcript and see i didn't do bad, and got straight A's. I'm nervous, they'll see i got a 2.0 and not even bother looking at my application. Should i send them a note with my trancsipt? Not worry?

counselors will send a transcript that explains your school once you send out your application. no worries.

gs1002, so u dont think i have anything to worry about? because based on the way my school is structured, literally, the only way to have a 4.0 is to take all ap classes, and get 100's. i could get A+s in all my cp classes, but my gpa will be like 2.2 on a 4.0 scale. I cant get into any college with this

Doesn't the transcript include the letter grade you received for each course?

Yes, they see letter grades, and usually compute their own GPA based on that. They'll know. But do know that it might affect your class rank. My school's very similar, but on a 6.0 weighted scale (so it seems like you're doing awesome when your uw GPA is not so hot), and straight-A students in no AP/IB classes could very well not be in the top 10%. You personally seem to be on a great track, and I'm sure much of your school is in the same boat, meaning your rank is fine, but don't just get angry at the system and refuse to acknowledge the Advanced options (not that you will, just saying).
