I'm confused guys, help/advice?

Hi,
I'm pretty torn between wanting to go into the medical field or the veterinary field, and I'm still in high school in the 10th grade. This summer I wanted to do community service at an animal shelter for hours leading up until graduation. If I change my mind at the last minute and want to go into medical field instead (surgeon, etc) will those community hours be for nothing? Its basically hospital vs. animal shelter for me you know?

Help?

I'm sure where you do your service hours in high school won't determine your future profession.

Either community service choice will not hinder your future success. It doesn't matter which you choose. Especially in 10th grade. But, if you really want, you could probably spend half of your time interning for a surgeon and the other half working at the animal shelter.

I would work at the animal shelter and if you change your mind it won't prevent you from going into the medical field.
I also want to be a vet.
