I drag myself to school most of the time...my school makes getting absences cleared a real pain (probably as a deterrent to skipping).

Almost all of my classes have less than 20 students, so it would be really obvious if I tried to skip. I usually don't even have excused absences.

Its hard to skip when there are only 50 people in your grade and only 7 teachers in the school...

I used to a lot when I was a freshman and sophomore, but because I go to a really small catholic school, it became nearly impossible.

Never. If we're not on the absentee list*, the teacher calls the main office, who in turn calls other teachers. Then everyone knows your skipping.

* You need a parent's confirmation that you'll be out to get on this list, so it's pretty much impossible to skip.

i skipped spanish a lot last semester (stupid 8 a.m. class), but she started a policy where after two misses, you lose 5% of your grade for every absence (and she announced it on a day I wasn't there), and it brought my grade down to a C.
... thus, I have changed the list of colleges I'm looking at.

About once a week. I'll have my parents call me out if the teacher isn't there too.

It's almost impossible to skip in my school, though people have tried. I've never done it.

Although I was really late to one class because I was talking to a teacher, who walked me to the class so I wouldn't get in trouble for skipping, only to realize the teacher hadn't even noticed or taken attendance yet...it was a dance class, though. My friend almost got suspended for skipping when it was clear she wasn't, and ended up with nothing except the teacher hating her.

This is my morning schedule (I'm a senior):

7:50-9:15 Civics
9:20-10:45 English (every other day)
10:50-12:40 Calculus (w/30 min break for lunch)

I haven't gone to Civics for three weeks. Haven't gone to English in two. Am late for calc every once in a while.

I got one single detention. My civics teacher just talks and talks and talks. I don't think he realizes how long it's been since I came to school in time for his class.

hmm... if we skip classes, we have to come to school on Saturday for a detention... pretty good deterrent I'd say.
