Why Facebook over Myspace, or vice versa?

I have both accounts but I use Myspace more mainly because that's what the majority of my friends use but also because I find Facebook to get so confusing at times. I always have 145945 invitations for things like vampire bites lol i know you can turn that off idk it just is a little too much for me.

Thoughts?

I prefer the clean look of Facebook over the mess that is many people's profiles on MySpace. Now that outside applications have proliferated, Facebook profiles are getting to look messy and cluttered too, but at least there are no clashing backgrounds or embedded music like in MySpace. I also get far more spam friend requests and spam messages on MySpace than on Facebook. It's easier to search for people on Facebook, and I think more of my friends are on Facebook than MySpace. I have 240 Facebook friends versus only 64 MySpace friends. I also like the convenience of Facebook's news feed (what friends have just added or updated); MySpace is trying to copy that but they haven't yet succeeded.

^ I agree with you on those terms - i really like the search tool and lack of ghetto glitter layouts lol i dont know i guess i really dont use it because like i said previously the majority of my friends are avid myspace users

Facebook > myspace. I haven't touched my myspace in a while, facebook is a lot cleaner definitely and a LOT faster too myspace takes forever to load (especailly some people's pages where they put tons of crap on it). I guess it depends on what your friends use more though.

Facebook is a more sophisticated, better executed version of Mywaste.

Think McDonalds vs. In-n-Out.

Mickey D is obviously MySpace.

Definitely Facebook. Most of my friends have flocked to Facebook, while others still extensively use MySpace. The Great thing about Facebook is that I hardly look at others' profiles anyway and everything can be done straight from the home page. Searching for friends is a lot easier and you don't have dumb face names.

The applications may be extensive, but some of them are great.

it gets too cluttered an annoying

the interface is much easier on fb and you can actually tell who you're talking to.

myspace = 10298349834 banner ads, annoying music blaring at the background ( i usually listen to itunes on my comp, so this just messes it up), very slow, annoying bulletins, strange layout, creepy messages from non-friends, low security, nobody in my school has used it in the last two years; my friends from other places don't use it either

facebook = cleaner, more organized, better layout, nice photo application, and really detailed security. also, all my friends are on it

Facebook.

More organized, and quicker to navigate. Plus a lot more people from my school have Facebook than Myspace.

Facebook is better, by far.
For myspace: I hated the zillion minutes it took for each page to download. The backgrounds were often tacky and prevented me from actually being able to read stuff on most profiles. The flashy ads seriously bothered me, and the music automatically streaming was very irritating. I have like 30 friends on myspace, and haven't gone on in quite a long time.

Facebook: The applications are fun; the invites are a little annoying, but you can easily ignore them. Less ads, no colored background (thank god); bumper stickers are good enough for my profile decoration. The groups are easier to manuever through, I like the facebook networks. You can change privacy settings easily. The status update page is always fun to look at. Ohh gosh I spend far too much time on fb, and have plenty of friends here. Mostly everyone I know who was on myspace exclusively before has slowly transferred to facebook.

In the words of a friend:

MySpace is for pedophiles; Facebook's for stalkers.

And it's true. MySpace kind of creeps me out, but of course I love looking at other people's profiles on Facebook (wall-to-wall analysis is a totally productive way to spend my summer).

^^ STALKER.

Facebook is better for the older crowd (HS+) and it's nice since there aren't as many 10-12 year olds as myspace (even though it's illegal there too). As you get older and your friends enter college, you transfer to facebook. It's easier to network with others. Myspace has "groups", but Facebook has (had) networks which made it easier to find people within a certain realm.

Facebook is just better; it's grown up. No lame layouts, no annoying music, less spam.

The only drawback is there aren't bulletins, so I go back to myspace for that.
