piercings+college interviews+college life=?

Say you have facial piercings?

You just got it done, so you cant take it out.

You have SEVERAL college interviews. Can they turn you down just because you have a piercing thats visible?

and if you do(have facial piercings) what did they say to you? did you still get in?

Try putting yourself in the shoes of the guy interviewing you. Would you, if you were him, reject you for having a visible piercing (on a place other than your ears)?
In my case, I would.
but I don't know if the college interview guys would

well...if it's not really that visible, I'd try to cover it up with hair or whatnot...

if it is REALLY visible (large nose-tongue ring or something), then you should be prepared to say why you got it, etc. I don't think it's interview-turning down worthy. Also, I would dress REALLY nice

I think that Anon Person 1 is probably right. At most colleges, interviews have little impact on acceptance anyway.

I can't resist - Ick why do you kids do that? I'm pretty liberal, but facial piercing yuck. I can almost accept the tiny nose piecing now with alittle bitty stud, but some I've seen.... When I talk to kids with those, I just can't stop looking at them and wondering why someone would mutilate themselves that way so better have a reason if asked. Hopefully no one you interview with will have my reaction.

Here's a great blog post about that from the MIT site.

It depends on where you're applying.

I wouldn't change to please a school though. If they don't like me, I'm not going to like the school.

I have several piercings and I wouldn't take them out for an interview (except for jobs, because they're hard to come by around here). I am who I am, and to change my piercings is like asking me to change my style of dress to prep or something. It's just something I can not do.

My piercings are because I like them though, not because I want to rebel. All of my piercings were done by me and it's like a personal statement. It's the same to me as picking what shirt I'm going to wear that day.

Because people these days want to be OMG rebels. Although when I step back and think about it, considering the emphasis our pop culture puts on certain things, I'm actually part of the real counterculture....

From my experience, college interviewers treat students like adults, i.e..they have a personal choice yadda yadda. Sometimes it can be surprising for a teen who's always been around bossy parents and teachers.

Not saying that your piercings won't make an impression but what's most important is what's in your head. Everyone has their own style, and colleges know that. What matters is that you represent yourself well, speak with confidence etc. You can still impress a college interviewer with your merits! all the best. Say, you have piercings and say, you have some interviews. So come back and tell us how they went
