Public libraries suck for librarians. They work so hard to get a Masters of Library Science just to be stuck with a job that pays $16.18 an hour for part time here in Jacksonville. (It might be more for a salaried librarian).

I can't blame them for working such short hours.

We seem to have enough, though, that they could at least have it open on Saturdays in the summer.

I live in a group of five small cities...we share the libraries, which are also combined with our 14 school libraries. I guess the main branch is opened for like two hours on Saturdays in the summer (the main branch is near my high school, btw), so I suppose I could go up there. But the branch I live near is by far the best, and is hardly ever open in the summer. And I have to check out books like now because I'm going away this weekend and I'm visiting colleges next weekend...colleges that are only about 12 hours away from where I live...

Invoyable, obviously people's liking for the library is outweighing your own negativity about it haha

my mom's getting frustrated because i'm always asking her or my dad for a ride. oh well, she needs to get used to it.

I actually need to go to the library like right now...but it's cold-ish and it looks like it's about to rain outside. Oh well. I'll go anyway.

^ me too, i just wish i lived closer to mine

and i realized that i should dress warm in the library. the ac is really cold there, and summery clothes don't really feel that suitable, especially if you're staying in there long

Wow lol

Anyways my class got cancelled today so I have two hours to kill so I decided to visit the library and man - it's totally way fun. I spent the first hour reading out of random books and so far i've learned about prostitution in colonial Latin America, homosexuality in the Soviet Union, and cocaine!

Too bad I found myself back on CC....

asian sensation....I know I'm kind of a lurker on these threads but regardless, I'm kind of starting to get sick of all of your library this and library that stories. You are 16, you should be able to choose where you go to study and where you eat at lunch without telling everyone on the internetz.
