A: 90-100 4.0
B: 80-89 3.0
C: 70-79 2.0
D: 60-69 1.0
F: 59 and below 0.0
For every honors class, you add .4 per semester to your GPA, and for every AP/dual enrollment class, you add .8 per semester to your gpa.
Hence, my unweighted gpa is a 3.87 due to my six B's (I slacked off my freshman year) and my weighted is now 4.91. |

| We changed the grading scale one year ago, because of the new Quebec education reform. We had ABCD system before, but now, we have a 12345 system, where:
60% (minimum passing grade)- 3
68%- 3+
76%- 4
84%- 4+
92%- 5
100%- 5+
The average grades are about 70%. 5's are considered A's, 4's B's, ect... Though, this year, they gave us our real percentages as final grades. They show us how much we had in each of the "competencies" and they calculate the final grade with how much they count. But there's usually only one student in the class that gets a 95% or more as a final grade. But most of our grade is our final exam. Exemple, my Bio final counted for about 80% of our final grade, because they don't add up your semester grades to get an average. We don't have any honors or AP classes here, so they don't weigh. Weird grading scale I know *sigh*...

| I hate my school
A+: 97-100: 4.33
A: 92-96: 4.00
A-:90-91: 3.66
I have no idea what comes below that...But the point is, it's really hard to get an A+ at my school, so that means that it's harder to get a full GPA. It makes me so jealous to see people with 4.00/4.00, because it's easier for them to be perfect. |

| A=90-100
B=80-89
C=74-79
D=70-73
F=0-69
Regular classes are weighted out of 4, honors/gifted are also out of 4 [that's bull but whatever], and APs out of 5 :] |

100-90 A
89-80 B
79-70 C
69-65 D
64.9 and below F
"+" and "-" are disregarded on transcript. therefore, an A+=A=A-, B+=B=B-, and so on.
honors and AP classes are weighted the same, on a 5.0 scale |

| How to calculate GPA? Hi everyone!
I'm new on CollegeConfidential and I have a question about calculating your GPA. How do you know what point scale your GPA is on? I'm applying for something, and it asks for my gpa on (which) point scale. At my school, our scale is something like this:
94-100 A
90-93 B+
84-89 B
80-83 C+
74-79 C
(etc)
And my school doesn't give any weights for Honors, but a 0.5 weight for AP.
Is there a specific name for this type of GPA point scale (e.g., 6-point, 5-point, etc?)?
Thanks so much! Help is appreciated. |
