Where do you guys work during the school year and in the summer?

(I'm looking for ideas for a summer job)

Look into the city. It may have summer jobs for teens.

I usually get a job at high-end department stores, IMO, they pay the best. I used to work at Nordstroms and made $22 and hour plus 15% commission.

I love Nordies, I used to get all my clothes from there when I was little. But they don't have one here (I go to DC a lot so I would get clothes at ones around there). Even once we do have one (they're building one), I think if I worked at the mall, I'd spend all the money I made.

This summer I interned as a teacher with a internship ranked in the top 10 called Breakthrough Collaborative. So that was pretty neat. I might do it next year but I'm interested in some programs for rising seniors.

I work as a waiter during the winter and summer breaks (good tips, but not too fun), and volunteered as a lifeguard the last few summers. I'll probably find an internship for this summer, though.

I work as a gate guard at a local beach club. But a lot of my friends work in supermarkets, coffee shops, pet stores, restaurants, etc.

I shelve books at the town library. Pretty dull job but there are lots of jobs worse than merely boring. My recent raise from minimum wage after 8 months nets me an extra *gasp* $2 a week. Having no library fines is nice though (and some free food, always fantastic).

But $22 hour?? I didn't think HS students could make that much.
