Does senior year matter?

Does the senior year first semester's grades count when a college is deciding whether to admit you, or have they already decided by then? (and it's just to check if that nothing terrible's happened--but the new grades don't replace old ones in the formulas or whatever)

So basically, do most colleges admit you based on 6 semesters or 7?

You can never be really sure. They could come into play.
I know.
