| My ACT scores :(
Composite: 23
English: 22
Math: 28
Reading: 17
Science: 24
Writing is not available.
Being valedictorian, having a 4.0 unweighted, I'm trying to get into the University of Florida. I'm a sophomore graduating early. How much are those scores going to have to be brought up?
I don't know how I did so bad on reading. When I took the test, I had mono and strep throat. They were doing construction outside, so I couldn't exactly focus. But yeah, I don't know.

You did pretty bad overall, for a valedictorian. What kind of backwater school are you going to? (no offense)

Buy a prep book and review. Being sick does have something to do with it (I was so sick the first time I took it and did horribly) but you really should work through a prep book to review what you need to work on.

don't feel bad. I got a 17 on my PLAN--but that was really b/c I didn't take it seriously & I wasn't feeling well either.

my friend went from a 23 to a 30. A lot of it is just timing. Good luck!

You should prep using the Princeton Review book. Its really great. I used it, only for a week, and i got a 29 my first time. Works well, has two sample test, and is easy enough to look over.

Retake it. The minimum required for the reading section of the ACT for UF is an 18. You have no chance unless you at least meet the minimum requirements.

Don't fret. Maybe the ACTs aren't your thing. Try the SAT usually people are good at one or the other.

Wut. The. F***.
No offense.
Reading is easily the easiest ACT.
My highest score was by far the Reading. 35.
Just read and answer the questions?
Get some prep going.

If you go to a public school, those scores are definitely believable. Florida schools suck. We spend 3/4 of the year learning FCAT, which is just basic math and reading.
But try to study again and retake it. Or take the SAT. Get some practice books and hang out in the ACT section to review answers and why you were wrong.
