Hey everybody, which schedule do you think would be better for a rising senior going to college for premed or pharmacy

AP Chemistry
AP Statistics
Honors Physics
Anatomy and Physiology
English Elective

AP Chemistry
AP Physics B
Anatomy and Physiology
English Elective

I took AP Calc AB this year (my junior year), and the only math courses then on are AP Stats or AP Calc BC. I don't want to do BC (it's notoriously hard at my school) with AP Chem (also, very hard at my school) so that's not an option. Right now im signed up for the first one, and I don't even know if I can do the second yet - but should I try? Or is my first schedule better. Does not taking 4 years of math look bad?

You want to make sure you challenge yourself your senior year. The second schedule obviously seems tougher since you are doubling up in AP sciences. AP Stats is easy, so it won't look as good on your transcript as AP Physics B. But, why in one schedule you're taking Honors Physics and the other one you're taking AP Physics? I thought most schools you need normal physics first and then you can take AP?

Also, if you took AP Calc AB, then AP Calc BC shouldn't be that bad. Maybe from PreCalc to BC would be hard since you wouldn't have a solid basis in Calc yet. My suggestion would be this:

AP Chemistry
AP Physics B
Anatomy and Physiology
English Elective
AP Calculus BC

This is of course if the schedule works. It's up to you though.

at my school physics isn't a prerequisite to AP Physics B, although AP Physics B is a prereq for AP Physics C.

Mzrak- yeah this year I took AP Bio and AP Calc AB, and got 5s on both exams

How difficult would it be if I did Physics B / Chem together. I'll say this...chem is very difficult for me, and AP is notorious at my school. For honors I got an A in 10th grade, but I struggled and had to put a lot in every day. So most so far have said the second?

Oh I see, and again, if you like challenging yourself, go with the second schedule. If you like to have an easier senior year, then go with the first. Schools do like to see that you worked hard in a very hard class. AP Chemistry is really hard, even at my school, but the people who take it are genuinely interested in the subject matter. You can always drop out of AP Chem if you find it ridiculously hard.

thanks for ur help redsox.. i dont even know if it will fit in my schedule..i guess ill see if it does, then if it can do the switch. dropping out of chem would be really bad though (for both pharmacy and premed) so i dont think i would ever do that. does the first schedule look "bad" ?

if you plan on majoring in some sort of science, take the second schedule. but i think you should take BC anyways
